Schools for Special Needs children

For this reason, G&T is privileged and delighted to be able to function as a channel for funds provided by Patmos in Finland, to the benefit of schools for special needs children in Israel. This ministry is purely diaconal. Contact is limited to the director of the school and the relevant person in the congregation, and no communication whatsoever is made with the children in these schools.

Some of the schools we have been privileged to help are in poor areas of mixed Jewish and Arab population, with the children coming from both backgrounds. Such schools are usually under-financed, and under pressure to provide even the basic services to the children they care for. The principal is often obliged to dedicate much time and energy to finding funds to underwrite special projects, or to purchase needed equipment or supplies.

Through the generosity of Patmos International, Grace and Truth has been able to assist several such schools to purchase necessary equipment or carry out needed renovations, or to provide therapy that is necessary to the children but not made available to them for financial reasons. Patmos has also at times sent over a physiotherapist to bear some of the burden of work.
